Description:

I use the Strong Motion Monitor app available on the website of the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention in Japan. The app’s URL is hardcoded, so changes in the site's design may not be reflected.
You can access the settings screen through the Settings app. The settings that can be configured include:
<ul>
<li>Disabling sleep mode</li>
<li>Selecting between white, black, or appearance dependent (for iOS 13 or later) background maps</li>
<li>Choosing the screen layout type for the map placement next to the time display on portrait and landscape screens</li>
<li>Selecting the screen layout type for the map placement next to the time display on landscape screens or iPad's portrait screen</li>
<li>Setting the offset time for server data acquisition. Adjust this setting if blank maps appear frequently, indicating heavy server processing (for example, -4 to -6 seconds)</li>
<li>Selecting the Strong Motion Monitor server</li>
</ul>
Notification preferences should be managed within the Settings app rather than within the app itself.
In portrait screen mode, you can perform the following actions:
<ul>
<li>The bottom left button allows you to set the screen layout type for horizontal screens with maps on the left and vertical time display</li>
<li>The bottom right button allows you to set the screen layout type for maps placed next to the right of the screen</li>
<li>Use the slide bar at the bottom left to display data from up to one hour in the past</li>
<li>Press buttons on either side of the slide bar to navigate data around 2 seconds at a time</li>
<li>To return to previously displayed data, press a button at the bottom right of the data display section</li>
<li>For users with iOS 6 or later, images can be sent to Twitter by pressing and holding on the map</li>
<li>You can switch between different map types by swiping left and right on the map. Left swipes cycle through Surface PGA, Seismic Intensity - Surface, Borehole PGA, Borehole Seismic Intensity, and back to Surface PGA. Right swipes toggle through Surface PGA, Borehole Seismic Intensity, Borehole PGA, Seismic Intensity - Surface, and back to Surface PGA.</li>
</ul>
